In Turkey
Because Iran is not a party to the Hague Convention, Iranian-issued documents cannot be Apostilled in Turkey — they must go through the full embassy process in Iran first. Documents issued in Turkey can be Apostilled directly at the Governor's Office (Valilik).

What is an Apostille?
Apostille is a French word meaning «certificate.» Under the 1961 Hague Convention, a document issued in one member country can be legally recognized in another by adding an Apostille stamp — an international seal of authenticity. Over 105 countries are parties to the treaty, including Turkey, the US, Germany, Austria, Sweden, and Azerbaijan.
- Turkey is a member — Turkish-issued documents can be Apostilled at the Valilik (Governor's Office).
- Iran is not a member — Iranian documents need full embassy certification instead.
- Apostille only applies to documents issued in that country — you can't Apostille an Iranian document in Turkey.

What documents typically need official translation?
Passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, transcripts, power of attorney, and any document submitted to Turkish government offices, courts, or universities.
What is a sworn translator (yeminli tercüman)?
A translator officially authorized by Turkish courts to produce legally valid translations. Their stamp and signature are recognized by all government offices and notaries in Turkey.
What is a Noter (Notary) and why do I need it?
A Noter is a Turkish notary operating under the judiciary. For most official purposes, a sworn translation alone isn't enough — it must also be certified (onaylı) by a Noter to have full legal validity.
Can I translate my Iranian documents in Turkey?
Yes — we can translate and notarize them in Turkey. However, for Apostille certification, Iranian documents must go through the embassy process in Iran first, since Iran is not part of the Hague Convention.
How long does the translation process take?
Standard translations are completed within 1–3 business days. Notarization adds half a day. Apostille processing at the Valilik typically takes 1–2 additional days. We handle all the office visits.
